Over the last year Israel has killed more than 200 unarmed protestors – including children, journalists and medics – in what the UN Human Rights Council has described as a possible war crime. And with the re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu, the situation is only going to get worse.
This Saturday, thousands will take to the streets for the National Demonstration for Palestine. The Palestinian people are calling for global protests, and we will stand in solidarity with them. As Israel continues to flout international law and violate human rights, it is our responsibility to hold Israel to account and push for an end to the oppression of the Palestinian people.
Labour & Palestine is organising a Labour bloc for this year’s National Demonstration for Palestine, on Saturday 11th of May. Meet at the corner of Portland Place and New Cavendish Street from 12pm. Bring your CLP and branch banners, bring your comrades and let’s ensure that the Labour Party continues to be visible and vocal in its support for the Palestinian people – especially as they face a renewed attack on their collective rights aided and abetted by the actions of the Trump administration.
This year the demonstration is organised by a number of UK-based organisations campaigning on Palestinian rights and trade unions. The Facebook page for the event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/260404684903442/
