Tories Great Betrayal on Greenbelt Protection
Local Tories promised Swanley residents they would do everything to protect the Green Belt around Swanley. At the very first opportunity they broke that promise when they voted in favour of building 2500 new homes on the controversial Pedham Place Development.
At the Sevenoaks District Council meeting on 26 March Conservative Councillors Claire Barnes, John Barnes, Laurence Ball and Nina Scott all voted in favour of the mega development, totally ignoring their recent promises to Swanley Residents. Only Lesley Dyball abstained and Tony Searles voted against.
Another example of the fact that you cannot trust the local conservative party on planning matters.
