On Thursday 16th November the Development Control Committee at Sevenoaks District Council unanimously rejected plans to build a series of tower blocks in the car parks of Swanley Town Centre.
Labour Councillor Mike Hogg joined other Swanley and Hextable councillors to speak forcefully to convince the Committee to reject this very unpopular plan. As well as arguing about the design and density of the buildings and the farcical parking plans, he of the argued for affordable and social housing for young people in Swanley to be built on this site.
He thanks the people of Swanley for their support in signing our petition, sending in their objections to Sevenoaks andindividually canvassing committee members.
It shows that the people of Swanley cannot be pushed around and when it comes to the crunch, Labour can work with other parties to protect Swanley and Its people.
