Time for action on the Birchwood School site

Ahead of Thursday’s White Oak by-election, Labour’s Jackie Griffiths says,

It’s time the eyesore of the derelict Birchwood School site was dealt with. I believe the old school buildings are an ideal place for much-needed affordable housing for the people of Swanley. There should just be housing on the footprint of the buildings, leaving the surrounding green space as recreational space for everyone to use.

Jackie is pictured below in Russett Way leading up to the old school.

  1. Why was this school closed in the first place? This was a great school and is still much needed for the children of the area. Such a shame! I dont believe houses should be built on the grounds there is enough houses there i should know i lived a stones through away!
