It emerged at the recent Finance and Audit committee of Swanley Town Council that the company appointed to manage Swanley Park, Can You Experience Ltd, have failed to pay their contract fee to the tune of £27,000.
It is unlikely that this money will be recovered without resorting to legal action.
It was also stated that the company had failed to fulfill many of its contractual obligations, including the maintenance of the public toilets and the upkeep of the bungalow.
It seems very likely that the contract will be terminated.
This is another item in the catalogue of failures of the Tory led Council.
When I questioned the Tory Leadership about the wisdom of appointing an outside contractor in 2015, I was told that it was Tory policy and the only way forward. They rejected my suggestion for the Council to take this work on in house.
This poor decision may cost the Council Tax payers over £20,000.
They are now to take on the management of the park in house, which Labour campaigned all along.
It is now time for you to give Labour a stronger voice on the Council.
