As regular readers will know, we’ve been reporting flytipping and dumped rubbish as part of our campaign for a cleaner, greener Swanley.
Sevenoaks District Council have a new Environmental Enforcement Officer who is keen to stamp out flytipping for good. The Council reports that,
You can help prevent flytipping by ensuring your waste is removed by a licensed waste carrier. You can find this out by calling the Environment Agency for free on 08708 506506. If a collections service seems too cheap, it may be too good to be true and you may find your rubbish dumped unlawfully.”
CCTV has been introduced at hotspots but we are all the eyes and ears that can help prevent flytipping – if you have any information about vehicles being used, or people or companies that aren’t disposing of waste correctly, or wish to report flytipping please contact 01732 227000 or email information@sevenoaks.gov.uk
We’re campaigning for a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Swanley all year round.
